Born in Çeşme, A. Belkıs İlgi graduated from Hacettepe University School of Home Economics in 1972. She started her career at the Coordinator Office of Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine in 1984 and left Hacettepe University while she was the coordinator of the school. Then, Belkis İlgi started to work for State Railways and retired from State Railways in
2003 when she was the Deputy Head of State Railways Department. She started painting in high school years and intensified her painting studies since 1994. When making his paintings, she has generally chosen the open spaces such as streets and highlands. A. Belkıs İlgi’s reflection this theme in her paintings is due to her intense interest and passion for nature. Since
1996, she has had eight solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. Her paintings are sold in auctions and are included in private collections.
