Fatos Miralay

She was born in 1979 in Nicosia, Cyprus. After completing her education at the Nicosia Turkish High School, she continued to the Department of Graphic Design of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University in 1996. In 2002, she graduated from the Department of Fashion and Textile Design of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cyprus International University. In 2004, she founded Casa Azul, her own art workshop. Since 2002, she has started her art studies and held 3 solo exhibitions. She participated in many mixed exhibitions that held at home and abroad and still continues to take place in art organizations. In 2011, she graduated from the post graduate programs of the Department of Plastic Arts of the Near East University Fine Arts Faculty. In 2018, she conducted a study on “Comparative Art Education” and graduated from Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Education Programs and Teaching. In 2013, she completed her research program on art education at EIE Malta Institute. Between the years of 2012-2017, she served as the head of the Department of Teaching Painting at the Near East University. Since 2010, she has been involved in many social responsibility projects and social benefit organizations. She was assigned as the president of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality Cultural Arts Committee between 2014-2018. Since 2011, she has been involved in many national and international scientific workshops on arts education programs. In addition, she was assigned as the chairman of the organization in many competitions based on the Cypriot culture and took charge in the exhibition juries. Miralay currently is working as a lecturer for the Department of Teaching Painting, Near East University.
