S. Torobekov

Born on February 12, 1957 in the village of Kirovskoye, Talas Oblast of the Kyrgyz Republic. He is a national artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honored cultural worker of the Kyrgyz Republic, full member of the National Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1973-1977 he was a student at the Fruzensky Art School. In 1984-1988 he was a teacher at the Kyrgyz State Art School named after S.A. Chuykova. Since 1988 he is the Head of the easel painting department of the National Academy of Arts of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 2003 he was awarded the degree of “Associate Professor”. In 2007 he was the winner of the S.Chuykova Prize “Assembly of cultural workers of Kyrgyzstan”. In 2009 he was awarded the Kyrgyz Republic Diploma of Honor. In 2009 he was awarded the diploma of the International Academy of Creativity, in Moscow. In 2011, he was elected a member of the International Academy of Creativity in Moscow. In 2012 he was the winner of the international award ‘’People’s Artist of the USSR’’ named after G. Aytiev. In 2013, the honorary title “Artist of the World Around the World” in Beijing was awarded. The artist’s works are exhibited in collections of art museums and private collections in different countries: the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts. G.Atiyev, in the art gallery of Kokchetav of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Museum of Art of Magnitogorsk of the Russian Federation, at the Academy of Arts of the USSR, directorate of exhibitions of the Union of Artists of the USSR, at the Travel Foundation in the name of Peace, China, at the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries, as well as in private collections and galleries of Russia, USA, Canada, Turkey, Germany, Japan, China, Israel, Italy, France, Kyrgyzstan and other countries.
