He was born in Hopa, Turkey on June 5 1959. He completed his primary and secondary education in Hopa. Then he undertook his higher education on Gazi University Faculty of Teaching Art. In 1986, he completed his postgraduate (MA) study and in 1992 he completed Art Competency in Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Graphic Design; where he worked as a Researcher, Academic Member and as an Assistant Professor during the years 1985-2006. He has also taken part in administrative duties, in academic committees and commissions. Furthermore, he has supervised many masters and doctorate theses of students and been a part of selection committees. Moreover, he has many academic publications in the fields of art and design, he has made many presentations and given various conferences; alongside mentoring sessions and taking part in projects and workshops. He has personally opened five personal exhibitions and has also taken part in many national and international exhibitions. He has won three international and one national awards in competitions. Additionally, he has participated in local collections held both within the country and abroad. He has began his Academic Career at the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in 2006 and is still continuing to work there.
