He was born on 22 March 1944, in Limassol. While he was a secondary school student, he served as the Limassol (Lemessos) correspondent for the Bozkurt newspaper until 1976, provided news and photography services. In 1974, he began to serve as the Cyprus correspondent of Turkey’s Hurriyet newspaper. In 1976, he worked as a photojournalist for the Turkish Agency-Cyprus. He was appointed as the private photographer of the TRNC Founding President Rauf Denktaş.
