She was born in Diyarbakır in 1949. She studied at Nurullah Berk and Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu studios of the State Academy of Fine Arts which she entered in 1967. She graduated in 1972 from the Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Studio.After working as an art teacher in Elazığ between 1976-78, she moved to Ankara and pursued her studies freely. In 1985, she started to work as a lecturer atHacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Plastic Arts. In 1987, she was appointed lecturer to Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics. In 1992, she completed her study titled “From Nature Impressions to Plastic Language” and received the title of Proficiency in Arts. In 2002, she was promoted to associate professor position in Painting, and in 2007 she became a professor.
