Kamil Veliakhmedov was born in Turkmenistan in 1957. Between 1973-75, he studied at Ş. Rustaveli Turkmen State Fine Arts College. He is a member of the Union of Turkmenistan Artists since 1995. He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. In 2007, he won the competition of “Turkmenistan Altyn Asyry”. In 2011, he was awarded the “20th Independence Anniversary Medal of Turkmenistan. In 2014, he received the State Medal of Turkmenistan. His works take place in private collections and galleries in Turkmenistan, Russia, USA, UK, Iran, France, Sweden, Turkey, Tatarstan and China.
