He was born in Ashgabad, Turkmenistan, in 1948. He graduated from the University of Painting Art at Aşkabad. The artist is working as the pedagogue of the B. Nuraly Ashgabat Children’s Painting School. Since 1982, he has participated in many national exhibitions in Turkmenistan and international painting exhibitions (Barnako, 1989). In 1998 and 2008, Curiyev held his 50th and 60th year solo exhibitions in Ashgabat.
