Riiat Muhametdinov

Riiat Mukhametdinov is a State Artist of Tatarstan, a member of the UNESCO International Artists Federation, and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and Tatarstan. He was born on April 10, 1952, in the village of Novomuslimovo.

In 1977, he graduated from the Art and Graphics Department of the Ufa School of Pedagogy. In 1994, he graduated from the Faculty of Art-Graphic of Bashkir State Pedagogical Institute. Since 1998, he has been a member of Russia – Tatarstan Artists Association. During 2005-2010 he became the head of the Russia Painters and Artists Union and of the Naberezhnye Chelny organization, and a member of “Tamga” creative group. In 2012, he received the title of Honorary Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, and was awarded the Baki Urmanche Ministry of Culture Award of the Republic of Tatarstan. He was awarded the silver medal of the Union of Artists and Artists of Russia. He is the author of the “Kama District” project.

His project titled “Contemporary Art and City of 21st Century” received a grant from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan (2009). Since 1995, he has been an active participant in local and international exhibitions. In 2002 he was awarded “The Teacher of the Year”, and “Artist of the Year” in 2005. He began his teaching career in 1986 at the Naberezhnye Chelny Children’s Art School. Since 1990, he has been teaching at the No. 1 Children’s Art School. The artist’s works take place in the Tatarstan State Fine Arts Museum, Naberezhnye Chelny Art Gallery, Yelabuga State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum, and in the collections of International Turkish Nations Organization (Turkey) and in private collections
