Atilla Atar

He was born in 1944 in Vakfıkebir. In 1962, he graduated from Edirne Primary School for Boys and in 1965 from Ankara Gazi Training Institute, Department of Painting. He studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris, specializing on Printmaking. He received his degree in Proficiency in Art from Mimar Sinan University in 1986. He worked at Izmir Buca Institute of Education and Higher Teacher Training School (today’s Dokuz Eylül University), Anadolu University and Yaşar University. He served as the Dean of Fine Arts Faculty, Director of Fine Arts Institute at Anadolu University and as the Director of Contemporary Arts Museum. He founded the first Printing Arts Department of our country. He opened 32 solo exhibitions, one of them was abroad, and received 17 awards. He has participated in numerous national and international art events and has been a jury member in the competitions. His works take part in collections in Turkey and abroad. The artist, who lives in Eskişehir, continues his artistic works in his studio.
