Vefa Efendizade was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. She completed Azerbaijani State Fine Arts College in 1979 and then graduated from the Department of Painting of Moscow State Surikov Fine Arts Academy. She worked as a teacher of University of Azerbaijani Fine Arts. She taught at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul between the years 1991-1998. She has been working at Cyprus International University since 2001. Besides her teaching profession, she held solo exhibitison and has participated in groups in many different exhibitions in Azerbaijan and in many other countries.
