“Turkey Printmaking Artists Exhibition” consisting of 60 artworks of 7 Young Generation Artists opened by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu

"Turkey Printmaking Artists Exhibition" consisting of 60 artworks specifically created for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts by 7 artists and academicians who are the members of Young Generation Artists of Turkey was opened by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu.

According to the press information released by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, the opening of the exhibition at the Near East University Faculty of Medicine Exhibition Hall was held by Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Tourism and Environment, and the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel; Central District Governor Ahmet Arslan; Chairman of the Board of Trustees Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, vice-rectors, deans and artists who participated in the exhibition.

At the opening of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, Orhan Mert on behalf of the Turkey Printmaking Artists , and Tourism and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoğlu made a speech.

A rich art collection was created with works prepared in different techniques...
Professor Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, said in his speech that they have the honor of opening the exhibition of artworks created by the young printmaking artists of Turkey aging between 25-30 years of age and that have a promising future as their names will now be advertised to the world through this exhibition as their works will be presented to the rest of the world.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu, stating that a foundation has been established in the field of culture and art as a result of the project of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art, and emphasized that it was founded as a result of Suat Günsel's determination, effort and energy.

Prof. Dr. Sadıkoğlu stating that hundreds of artists from around the world came to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and opened exhibitions, emphasized that the museum now has a huge collection including over six thousand artworks consisting of oil painting, watercolor, kuvarj, print paintings, photos prepared in different techniques.

Professor Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu ended his speech by saying that Dr. Suat Günsel had promised to allocate his material and spiritual resources to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and he remains loyal to his principles and make all the investments to his country.

Speaking on behalf of Turkey Printmaking Artists, Orhan Mert said, "Using the workshops allocated to us at the highest possible level, we are proud of to create artworks to hold an exhibition worthy of consideration of yours. I would like to thank Erkin Keskin, who brought us together through the this exhibition and who is not with us right now. It is our honor that our unity and solidarity brought you and us together. I would like to thank the Near East University on behalf of my colleagures for the opportunities provided for us."

Minister Ataoğlu: "Efforts are made by Near East University to introduce our country..."
The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Fikri Ataoğlu, stated in his speech that he always appreciates the efforts of the Near East University in giving support to art and artists, sports, and to many other fields. Minister Ataoğlu added "Our country has an important history and many artworks have been crated throughout this history. With these artworks exhibited at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, we have the chance to observe the different cultures of different countries. It is our duty and responsibility to present these artworks not only to our people but also the the people of other countries."

Following the speeches, certificates of appreciation were presented by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu to Orhan Mert, Büşra Göksu, Ali Kurşun, Elif Sena Çelik, Orhan Mert, Hatice Çevik and Samet Kapoğlu.

Exhibition Ribbon cut...
After the presentation of the certificates of appreciation, the opening ribbon of the exhibition was cut and the exhibition was visited. The exhibition, consisting of metal engraving, serigraphy and high printing techniques, will be open between 9 am-12:00 am until 9 April 2019.
