The Commander of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım and his wife visit the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Cyprus Car Museum with Four Other Exhibitions open at the Near East University

The Commander-in-Chief of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım and his wife visited four different exhibitions in the different locations of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Cyprus Car Museum in the museum district of the Near East University.

According to the press information provided by Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, during the visit of Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım and his wife accompanied by the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Sadıkoğlu, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Founding Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Cypriot History Museum, Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul, and the Director of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Görkem Bulunç.

Major General Yıldırım and his wife first visited North Cyprus Mixed Photo-Painting Exhibition...
During his first visit at the Faculty of Dentistry Exhibition Hall, Major General Yıldırım and his wife visited the Photo-Painting exhibition held by the photography artists Elif Tuncel and Ediz Tuncel with 130 photos selected their photo archive and recreated by giving water and oil painting effects. Major General Yilmaz Yildirim was informed about the photo-painting technique.

Print Painting Exhibition of Azerbaijan Artists and Local Arts Exhibitions impressed major General Yılmaz Yıldırım and his wife...
Major General Yıldırım and his wife later respectively visited the Painting Exhibition consisting of 45 paintings of Azerbaijan artists exclusively made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and held at the Near East University Hospital Exhibition Hall; "Turkey Printmaking Artists Exhibition" consisting of 60 artworks of 7 Young Generation Artists held at the Faculty of Medicine Exhibition Hall; and the "Local Arts Photography Exhibition" consisting of 100 photos of photographer and artist Gazi Yüksel, lecturer of the Faculty of Communication, held at the exhibition hall of the Near East Secondary School.


They were impressed by the Cyprus Car Museum and Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts...
After touring the exhibitions, Major General Yıldırım and his wife visited Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and Cyprus Car Museum and obtained information about the museums. Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım and his wife, observing the artworks and obtaining information about the acrylic, oil paint, spray paint, air brush, mixed painting and drawing techniques as well as wood-wood carving, marble-ceramic sculpture, clay sculpting, metal sculpture and handmade hunting knife at the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Major General Yıldırım and his wife, observed the classic and sports car exhibited in the Cyprus Car Museum with admiration and curiosity, and obtaind information about the history of cars produced in the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

Major General Yıldırım during his visit stated that the Near East University has reflected and revealed the spirit and artistic talents of Turkish artist with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and made the artworks of these painters visible.

Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Commander Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım said, “I would like to congratulate Near East University for the importance and priority it places on art. I was proud of visiting exhibitions and museums. Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will be the face of Cyprus. The works exhibited in the exhibition halls are impressive and light-shining for younger generations".

Following the visits, the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat Irfan Günsel, presented an oil painting to Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Commander Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım and a print-painting to his wife.
