Teaching Staff Exhibition consisting of more than 100 artworks exclusively prepared by the teaching staff of Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts was opened by Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Tourism and Environment.

According to the information provided by the Near East University Press and Public Relations Directorate, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition at the Cyprus Art Center located at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center of the Near East University, Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Tourism and Environment, Kadir Akçeşme, Chief Advisor to the Turkey's Embassy of Nicosia, Founding Rector of Near East University Suat Irfan Günsel and his wife Mrs. Özay Günsel, Özay Günsel Children's University Board of Trustees Chairperson Anna Günsel, Deputy Secretary General of National Unity Party Ahmet Savaşan, Near East University Rector Prof. Dr. Ümit Hassan, vice rectors, deans, lecturers, artists and guests were present.

At the opening of the exhibition, Rector of Near East University Dr. Prof. Ümit Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Erdal Aygenç and Tourism and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoğlu gave a speech.

Professor Dr. Hassan: "We are fulfilling the mission of the Near East University..."
Rector. Dr. Ümit Hassan delivering the opening speech of the exhibition said in his speech that being in close contact with painters and artists through the gradually increasing exhibitions colored our emotion world and strengthened the university's consciousness of duty.

Prof. Dr. Hassan, we are experiencing one of the most important turning points of our university with the significant contributions of all the artists of the Near East University. We will walk to the future with new beauties and transnational existence of our University with new colors and lights will increase throughout this period. Prof. Dr. Hassan thanked Günsel family for their devotion, determination and contributions to human development

Continuing to his speech, Rector Hassan emphasized that the fact that Günsel family's principles are included in the transnational platforms is the most important indication for being recognized as a country. The images of light are the reflections of beauty of all art branches. We focused on the line, color, color stack, strokes, and the styles of perspective. The oldest sacredness figures of painting and sculpture have begun with the emergence of the male, female and animal figures.

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç, said in his speech that the Faculty of Fine Arts Faculty has been continuing to contribute to contemporary art and design education, art culture and to the continuation of the presence of the art fields.

Prof. Dr. Aygenç, stating that their mission is training the artists in the fields of painting, sculpture, ceramic included in the plastic arts, emphasized that the faculty is developing its ties with the rest of the world with the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education programs, as well as with the artistic, cultural and academic activities.

Prof. Dr. Aygenç stated that the faculty is determined to maintain the leadership position of the region as the arts and culture center and mentioned that they serve not only to the nearby geography but also the whole world. Stating that they have an unspeakable honor to be a part of a university with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Erdal Aygenç expressed his gratitude to the lecturer who created the exhibition with different applications from painting, sculpture, ceramics, print painting and graphic design fields. Aygenç also expressed his gratitude to Founding Rector Suat Günsel for his leading role in founding such an art museum.

Minister Ataoğlu: "It is a source of pride that Near East University takes part in the promotion of the country..."
Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stating that from the past up to the present, the Near East University Family has followed a different line, pointed out how much importance was given to art and the artist was seen clearly during this period.

Minister Ataoğlu: "When we look at the achievements made during this period, the importance given by the Near East family to the artist and the art, and as we know the importance of Northern Cyprus in the Mediterranean region, is also important beyond the Mediterranean region.

Life quality is determined with the value given to the art and artists, said Ministers Ataoğlu, and continued "Turkey, Turkic States and other countries taking part with their artists in such an important art event, and contributing to the value we place on their art for the unity of our cultures and common values, make great contribution to our mission and future.

In his speech Ataoğlu also underlined that the value of the Near East family, which takes place in most of all movements made to promote our country, is of great importance everywhere in the country.

After the speeches, the exhibition ribbon was cut and the Teaching Staff Exhibition was opened.

The exhibition, where a wide selection of different methods and techniques in different disciplines such as painting, printing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and graphic design meet with viewers, will be open to visitors between 08.00-16.00 on weekdays until 24 May 2019.
