The Kyrgyz Artists Exhibition consisting of 36 artworks exclusively made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts by 8 artists from Kyrgyztan was opened by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy.

According to the press information provided by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the Near East University, the opening ceremony of the exhibition at the Faculty of Communication Exhibition Hall was attended by the Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy, Founding Rector of the Near East University, Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, vice rectors, lecturers, artists and invited guests.

At the opening of the exhibition, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof.Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Baizak Alybaev on behalf of Kyrgyzstan Artists and Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Tacoy made a speech. The Kyrgyz artist Dodurbek Nurgaziyev, owner of the State Medal and the Silver Key Honor Award for his exhibitions at the Near East University and who had recently died was commemorated before the opening speeches of the exhibition. It was announced that an exhibition in memory of Dodurbek Nurgaziyev will be held by artists from Kyrgyzstan and the name of the artist will be given as a prize to the promising Young Artists within the scope of Alasia Awards given by Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Emphasized the Importance of Museums in Human History…
The opening speech of the exhibition was made by the Vice Rector of the Near East University, Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ. Şanlıdağ said in his speech that the the museums housing traces of the certain historic values, are the etiquette and social engineering tools that instill the likes of a community.

Continuing his speech, Prof. Şanlıdağ referring to words of Andrea Earl, famous British literary Eliot and painter Elif Naci on museums and art, said “Museums are the institutions leading to the public and the development of the service of the public, people and the environment, present the results of research on materials, and collect, preserve and share the information in continuity."

Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Will Shed a Light on Human History…
Identifying the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts with the famous song of John Lennon, "Imagine", Şanlıdağ said "On 15 November 2020, 7 museums will be opened along with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts at the Museums Area of the Near East University where the history of humanity will be shed light on."

Continuing his speech, Prof. Şanlıdağ said "The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is a unique project that brings together artists from many countries and provides freedom in creativity. More than 90 exhibitions have been held on campus in the last 10 months. To date, over 12,000 works have been produced by hundreds of artists for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Art. The target to be reached is 20,000 works by November 15, 2020 ”.

Cyprus Museum of Modern Art Will Be an Art Temple…
Speaking on behalf of the artists of Kyrgyzstan, Baizak Alybaev said, "We are pleased to see you at the opening of our exhibition. Firstly, we thank Suat Günsel for allowing us to be a part of a project which is unique not only regionally but globally. Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will become an Art Temple that will exist for years. I would like to state that we are proud to be a seed of the history of Northern Cyprus."

Minister Taçoy: “Suat Günsel exhibits a beautiful fidelity…”
Economy and Energy Minister Hasan Taçoy said that Dr. Suat Günsel has many features, but the most important feature of him is fidelity.

Minister Taçoy, “About a month ago in a sea incident we have collectively lost the lives of an entire family and the future of the only remaining member of the family was taken under care by Suat Hoca and he promised to provide him with all sort of education facilities. This is a distinct feature of Suat Hoca. Fidelity is a feature that we should all be in. The name and art of Dodurbek Nurgaziyev, who is a Kyrgyzstan artist who has been awarded State Silver Award and Silver Key Honor for opening exhibitions at the Near East University, will continue to live with the art events of the Near East University. This is a real example of loyalty and fidelity. This is a symbol of the importance shown to the person and the artist. The only thing that services will leave behind is to be remembered. Therefore, I congratulate Suat Hoca for doing so. ”

A Great Future and Treasury is Being Established…
Taçoy stated that he met with a surprise every time he came to the exhibitions at the Near East University and that he saw the image of the strong hero Tarkan, the symbol of his childhood in today's exhibition. Hasan Taçoy, who mentioned that an artwork is creating and keeping one's salvation, said that the most beautiful examples were seen in exhibitions.

Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy said, " Together with the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, seven museums are a great richness for our future, a treasure and wealth. Thousands of artists, more than 20 thousand works will be exhibited. No matter how hard you try, this treasure cannot be put together. It is only necessary to imagine and realize it. Therefore, I would like to congratulate the Founding Rector Suat Günsel once again.

Exhibition Ribbon was cut and the exhibition was toured…
Following the speeches, Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy gave a certificate of appreciation to the artists from Kyrgyzstan. Then the exhibition ribbon was cut and the Kyrgyzstan Artists Exhibition opened. The exhibition reflects the nature and different themes of Kyrgyzstan in a mixed style.
