Consisting of 50 artworks that exclusively prepared for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, “4 Solo Exhibitions”, which reveal the extraordinary vision of 4 Kazakh artists Yerlan Nazarkulov, Aidos Seydakul, Amanat Nazarkul and Kuralay Amanzholova and the "Exhibition of Turkish Printmaking Artists", which features 35 masterpieces created by 7 Turkish academician artists Tahir Büyükkaragöz, Ahmet Aydın Kaptan, Ata Yakup Kaptan, Serpil Kaptan, Nur Olcay Kurt, Engin Ümer and Adem Yücel, was opened by Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu, Minister of Labor and Social Security.

The Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University released that the opening ceremony of the four solo exhibitions and the Exhibition of Turkish Printmaking Artists was realized at the exhibition hall of Near East University Hospital with the participation of TRNC Labor and Social Security Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat Irfan Günsel, Özay Günsel Children's University Rector Professor Filiz Meriçli, Professor Ali Efdal Ozkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts and the Founding Chairman of the Executive Board of Cyprus Turkish National History Museum, vice rectors, deans, faculty members, artists and guests.

The opening remarks of five distinctive exhibitions were respectively delivered by Professor Ali Efdal Ozkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts and the Founding Chairman of the Executive Board of Cyprus Turkish National History Museum, Dr. Adem Yücel from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Ordu University, on behalf of Turkish academician artists, Kazakh artists Aidos Seidakul, Kuralay Amanzholova, Yerlan Nazarkulov, Amanat Nazarkul and TRNC Labor and Social Security Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu.

Science, Art and Innovation has been combined…
In his opening remarks, Professor Ali Efdal Ozkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts and the Founding Chairman of the Executive Board of Cyprus Turkish National History Museum, underlined that Near East University, which started her educational life in 1988, had left her mark on many outstanding accomplishments and made her name known in this geography as a leading university. “When the leading role and outstanding accomplishments in education, science, health, innovation, sports, art and culture are taken into consideration, Near East University comes into mind first in this geography. Near East University with her educational, research and scientific accumulation use her energy to contribute to the economic, social, psychological and cultural development of the society in local and global scale. Since its establishment, Near East University has been covering firm steps towards being a global information center. Within 31 years, a period of time that can be considered relative to the history of a comprehensive and high level institute of science and education, Near East University has developed with a dazzling pace and become the largest education, research, culture and art center of Cyprus. As of 2018, more than 1200 articles of faculty members of Near East University were published by prestigious journals scanned by Web of Science and Scopus, the largest abstract and citation databases of peer-reviewed literature covering tens of thousands research topics across all scientific disciplines. Considering the number of publications, Near East University ranks the 3rd place among universities in Turkey and top among TRNC universities. Our aim is to take place among the world’s top 500 prestigious universities. As NEU’s academicians we progress on this route with firm steps” said he.

Underlining that they adopt quality, innovation and accomplishment in all domains of science, education, health, culture and art, Professor Ali Efdal Özkul delivered further information: "In order to ensure lifelong education encompassing all between 2 and 60+ years of age, in addition to Near East University and University of Kyrenia, we opened 60+ Refresher University in the academic year of 2018-2019. Besides, as of June, we opened Özay Günsel Children's University, which is the only and first university of Cyprus for children aging 2-17.

We offer world class health services to our society and people living in the region with a total of 5 hospitals including Near East University Hospital, NEU Dental Hospital, NEU Animal Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel Hospital and Dental Hospital of University of Kyrenia. As a science-producing university, Near East University houses 20 faculties, 6 graduate schools, 33 research centers and 104 high-end laboratories, all of which are in service of research and development studies. In the last three years, 380 research projects were accepted by BAP, which we support with our own resources, and 120 of these projects have been completed” noted he.

Underlining the crucial role of research and exchange programs in providing students with opportunity to gain educational and training experience abroad, Professor Ali Efdal Özkul expressed his views: “We have realized internship and research exchange programs with many universities across the world through student clubs affiliated with our university. This summer, within the scope of these exchange programs, 61 students from 22 different countries engaged in internship or research programs on Near East University Campus. The research and exchange programs also enable our students to engage in internship and research exchange programs at universities abroad. “This year, we have realized a first in TRNC and sent 2 students to Lithuania within the scope of Erasmus Exchange Program. We have set a foot towards initiating the academic staff exchange program within the Fall Semester. A doctoral student from Near East University was entitled to participate in the CERN project in the fall semester of the academic year of 2019-2020.

With RA-25 and RA-27 solar-powered car project, Robotic Soccer Team, TRNC’s first domestic electric car GÜNSEL, Technology Transfer Office NERITA, Near East University has made her name and TRNC known across the world. And now, with Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project, we are bringing together all Turkic republics and communities and Turkey in Northern Cyprus via an "Art Bridge"" noted he.

Underlining that Near East University, in addition to her achievements in education, had combined science and art like the two wings of a bird by accelerating her activities in the field of art and museology, Professor Ali Efdal Özkul stated that establishing a museum in contemporary sense was an arduous process requiring great efforts and sacrifices. "Our three museums (Cyprus Car Museum, Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and Cyprus Herbarium and Natural History Museum) located on the Museums Zone on the Near East University Campus, provides the visitors with opportunity to spent their times in an environment full of science, technology and art. New museums consisting of Cyprus Turkish National History Museum, Maritime Museum, Knife and Sword Museum have been designed to be constructed. Consequently, a total of 7 museums located in the Museums Zone on Near East University Campus will be a clear indicator showing the importance that Near East University attach on science, culture and art” said he.

Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will be a Leading Center of Turkic Art of Painting...
Speaking on behalf of Turkish academician artists, Dr. Adem Yücel from Faculty of Fine Arts of Ordu University stated that they were impressed with the artists' residence program designed to create artworks for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts which would be an art temple reflecting solely Turkic art. "Today, we are opening the exhibition consisting of 35 paintings that we, as 7 Turkish academician artists prepared exclusively for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. We feel happy to be a part of this significant project. We would like to thank everyone that contributed to this project by participating in the artists' residence program so far. Thanks to its artistic content and the diversity of its artists, Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which will be opened in 2020, will be an important and leading center of Turkic art of painting” said he.

Expressing that they were experiencing such a significant atmosphere in virtue of the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel's initiative and support, Kazakh artist Aidos Seidakul extended his appreciations for the particular interest and the appropriate atmosphere provided for them to work effectively and fruitfully. "I learned many new things here and it was an unforgettable experience for me. Thanks for your trust and respect in me. I am sure that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will leave its mark for centuries by making its name globally known".

Underlining the significance of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts project designed to gather Turkic art under one roof, Kazakh artist Kuralay Amanzholova expressed his happiness of being in North Cyprus and participating in such a significant event that would leave its marks in history. “Not only in my name but also on behalf of my people, I would like to take this opportunity and extend my appreciations to Dr. Suat Günsel for every step that he had taken towards ensuring the spiritual development of Turkic World countries and communities. We are also grateful for having been supported and provided opportunity to be here today".

I am proud that my artworks will take place in the Collection of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts...
Expressing that the exhibition that she opened at Near East University in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was important for her, Kazakh artist Amanat Nazarkul stated that it was a great pleasure for her to create work under the roof of Near East University. "I want to say that I am proud that my paintings will take place in the collection of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. Mr. Dr. Suat Günsel, thank you very much for providing this opportunity, for your warm welcome and your interest".

A great mission is being fulfilled to protect and unite Turkic peoples...
Underlining that the united Turkic world was a dream possible to come true, Kazakh artist Yerlan Nazarkulov stated that the unity of Turkic peoples was a necessity for future generations in order to protect each other in such a world full of conflict.

“Turkic peoples are very rich in terms of tradition and culture and this richness is reflected and accumulated through art. Art is the expression of aesthetics and emotions. Art has a positive effect on our hearts as well as on our minds. Thus it gains material and spiritual value. Due to the blurred borders and identities in the globalized world we live in, ethnically based culture and consciousness are being destroyed. There is only one force that can stop this situation, and that is art. On behalf of the artists of Kazakhstan, I would like to express my eternal gratitude to Suat İ. Günsel. Mr. Suat Günsel, the activities that you carry out with the intention of protecting and unifying the Turkic culture and peoples realize a big mission. Thanks to your hospitality, we also had a great time on the island of Cyprus in terms of productivity and personal development in art" said she.

Minister Dr. Sucuoğlu: "Near East University has been progressing towards being the World's Number One in the Field of Art..."
Expressing that he had the opportunity to see distinguished artworks of many artists at the exhibitions he had attended so far, Labor and Social Security Minister Dr. Faiz Sucuoğlu stated that it was a great success to reach almost 14 thousand works created by hundreds of artists within the scope of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts project that initiated 11 months ago.

“This is not a new surprise. Because Suat Hodja (Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel) loves challenges, loves to achieve the firsts and loves to be the number one by accomplishing very outstanding projects. Near East University Women's Basketball Team has achieved championships both in Turkey and Europe. NEU Women's Basketball Team was the champ of Turkish Women's Basketball Super League, Turkey Cup and EuroCup. The Robotic Soccer Team of Near East University was the champion of World's Robotic Soccer Cup. Near East University is coming up with another first now; an electric car factory. With a world class University, Faculty of Medicine, Innovation Center, Research Centers and all scientific, cultural and artistic activities, Near East University is not satisfied with the first place in Europe, she has been covering concrete steps towards accomplishments on global scale. Near East University has been progressing towards being the world's number one in promoting culture and art; particularly the culture and art of Turkic Republic and Communities. “The artists, who come here and contribute to the Museum of Modern arts by creating masterpieces, talk about Dr. Suat Günsel, Near East University and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus when they return to their countries. For me, the remarks of these artists are priceless for the promotion of our country. In this regard, Near East Family has undertaken a great role not only in terms of art but also in terms of promotion" noted he.

Expressing that promoting Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus abroad through art and demonstrating the importance attached on art was priceless promotion, Minister Sucuoğlu extended his appreciations on behalf of the Government to Near East Family for their attaching importance on science and art and undertaking such a great mission. “I hope that the entrepreneurial achievements of the Near East University, which contributes to the economy with her 7,000 employees, will continue increasingly” said he.

Awards and Certificates of Appreciation were presented to the Artists…
Following the speeches, certificates of appreciation were delivered to Turkish printmaking artists by Faiz Sucuoğlu, Minister of Labor and Social Security. Kazakh artists Kuralay Amanzholova were awarded with "Silver Key Honor Award" while, "Uluğ Beg Award", which is an award for international painting masters, was presented to Amanat Nazarkul, and "Dogdurbeg Nurgaziyev Award", which is awarded to young artists in honor of Kyrgyz state artist Dogdurbek Nurgaziev within the scope of Alasya Awards, was presented to Aidos Seidakul.

The Exhibition Ribbon was cut...
Following the award ceremony, the ribbon was cut and the solo exhibitions of 4 Kazakh artists and The Exhibition of Turkish Printmaking Artists were opened. Upon the opening of the exhibition, the participants toured the exhibitions. The exhibitions at the Exhibition Hall of Near East University Hospital will be open for visits between 08:00-17:00 on weekdays until 27 September 2019.
