Exclusively prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, three solo painting exhibitions were opened by Olgun Amcaoğlu, TRNC Minister of Finance. The exhibitions feature a total of 57 paintings reflecting the extraordinary art vision of the artists. 10 artworks of the Turkish artist E. Yıldız Doğan, 22 works of Kazakh artist Tileuzhan Batanov and 25 works of Kazakh artist Muthit Murzaliyev stand out as master pieces addressing the taste and soul of the art lovers.

The opening ceremony of the exhibitions were realized with the attendance of TRNC Finance Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu, UBP Güzelyurt MP Menteş Gündüz, NEU Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel, vice vectors, directors of the graduate schools, deans, faculty members, artists and guests.

The opening remarks of the exhibitions were delivered respectively by NEU vice Rector Professor Tamer Şanlıdağ, Turkish artist E. Yıldız Doğan, Kazakh artists Tileuzhan Batanov and Muthit Murzaliyev, Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu.

Near East University vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ began his speech by delivering examples from world art. "The Scream, which depicts the existential agony of the mankind, is a popular artwork created by Norwegian Expressionist artist Edvard Munch. The painting “Scream” is the second most famous work of art history after Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. In the painting, in the foreground, in the middle of a bridge, there is someone whose gender can't be distinguished. His/her eyes are opened widely and she/he screams as if it were coming from the depth of her/his soul. However, other than that, every detail in the painting seems normal. In his diary, Munch noted that he had been out for a walk at sunset when suddenly the setting sunlight turned the clouds a blood red. He sensed an infinite scream passing through nature. "I was walking along the road with two friends – the sun was setting – suddenly the sky turned blood red – I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence – there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city – my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety – and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature".

Prof. Dr. Tamer Sanlidag: "The scream rising from the artists will surely resonate all over the world”.
Prof: Dr. Şanlıdağ stated that almost 1500 artists had participated in the activities held within the scope of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project. ": "Within the scope of this great project, many art workshops were realized and 222 exhibitions including the present ones were opened within the last year. The number of artworks that created by the talented artists for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts has exceeded 20,000, which is a significant number relative to such short time" noted he.

Expressing that the number of materials accumulated for all the museums that will operate on the campus had reached 100 thousand, Professor Şanlıdağ said: "In the last two weeks of this year, between December 17 and 30, 29 exhibitions, tens of artists and countless works will come together with the art lovers. The screaming rising from the artists through the created atmosphere will surely resonate all across the world.

Today, we are realizing the opening of three distinguished solo painting exhibitions revealing the extra ordinary vision of three talented artists consisting of the Turkish artist Yıldız Doyran and Kazakh artists Tileuzhan Batanov and Mukhit Murzaliyev. I would like to take this opportunity and express my gratitude to all of our artists and especially to each individual member of Günsel family for pioneering the realization of world-embracing artistic and cultural projects".

Expressing that he had been at the campus for four times within the scope of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Turkish artist E. Yıldız Doyran stated that he had created 34 works for the museum so far added that he desired to complete this number to 50 within the process.

Doyran: "Researchers and prospective artists and young people from all around the world will be able to come to this museum and observe the Turkic art very easily".
Highlighting the crucial role of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts in reflecting all aspects of Turkic art and culture, Doyran expressed her views: “Some people have utopian dreams. However, some scientists have very good ideas not only concerning science but also concerning art. Probably, our Suat Hoca (NEU Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel) stands forefront of all those; because we witness that many of these scientists in our surroundings are making progress in their own lanes. However, the atmosphere created at Near East University with Suat Günsel's forward looking vision is definitely a dream that many people cannot achieve, not only in the name of science, but also in the name of art. One lives to realize his/her dreams. So does the artist. We are here for our dreams and I will be grateful if we contribute a little to this museum. As my other fellow artists mentioned, this museum will be a museum that brings together all

Turkic art and culture as well as the artists of the Turkic world. This is a contribution to the new educational approach that Günsel has created by exerting devoted efforts for years. Researchers and prospective artists and young people from all around the world will be able to come to this museum and observe the Turkic art very comfortably. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to me and who supported me" said he.

Murzaliyev: "I am proud of contributing to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which will unite the Turkic world”
Beginning his remarks by greeting the protocol and the guests, Kazakh artist Muthit Murzaliyev expressed his views: "I'm personally, and I'm sure all my colleagues have the same feelings. I would like to state that I am very proud of contributing to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which will unite the Turkish world and thus the world art. Besides, this matter constitutes an important point in terms of ensuring cooperation and friendship among Turkic peoples. Each artist has his/her own life experiences, which are not always positive, of course. However, we forget everything in this inspiring and friendship-filled, peaceful atmosphere, and we just create our works and get real pleasure from what we do. I live with art, I have the ability to create, I help with my creativity and this is my real happiness. It is a distinguished pride for me to open my first solo exhibition in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Today I would like to express my gratitude to everyone, because this is our joint effort and our common success" noted he.

Batanov: “This is our joint efforts, our common victory”
Underlining the significance of working together towards realizing the same goal, Kazakh artist Batanov expressed his views: "Today, we are experiencing the happiness of opening the solo exhibitions in this hall. This is a little contribution to the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the museum of Turkic people. We are grateful for your providing us with the opportunity to be on your beautiful and hospitable land, meet and work with other artists. We are witnessing the harmonization of the cultures of Turkic peoples. Dear Founding Rector, I hope that your efforts and sacrifices will return with the prosperity of your business. I wish you a long healthy life, happiness and unfading energy. This is our joint efforts, our common victory" said he.

Minister Amcaoğlu: "Adopting it as her task, Near East University has pioneered for steps to be taken"
The rising of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts as the center of Turkic art on these lands, the expanding of its collection reflecting master pieces created by talented Turkic artists really makes me very happy. By appreciating and following developments regarding the issue, we are all together setting a foot on a beautiful route that we can't possibly predict the results. In fact, politics prefers to take steps to deal with the facts.

However, art constitutes an important step here, especially with the synergy that it captured within the body of this significant art center. I would like to emphasize that Near East University has pioneered for the steps to be taken on this route by adopting it as her task. I personally and on behalf of the party that I represent thank them" noted he.
