Three Solo Painting Exhibitions consisting of 86 Artworks exclusively made for Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Three Kazakh Artists opened by Minister of Tourism and Environment Dt. Ünal Üstel

The solo exhibition of Umirbek Tleuliyev titled "The Bulls" and consisting of 36 artworks, solo exhibition of Pyotr Kishkis titled "Chronicles of feelings" and consisting of 18 artworks, and the solo exhibition of Guldana Zhurkabayeva titled "Eclectic Me" and consisting of 32 artworks, in total 86 artworks, were opened by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Dt. Ünal Üstel.

According to the information provided by the Near East University Directorate of Press and Public Relations, the opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Environment Dt. Ünal Üstel, Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, Rector of Özay Günsel Children's University Prof. Dr. Filiz Meriçli, Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, Minister of Tourism and Environment Director of Private Office Batu Beyit, vice-rectors, deans, institute directors, lecturers, and artists.

At the opening respectively, Vice-Rector of the Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Kazakh artists Umirbek Tleuliyev, Pyotr Kishkis, and Guldana Zhurkabayeva and Minister of Tourism and Environment Dt. Ünal Üstel made a speech each.

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ; “The Cyprus Museum of Modern Art's collection consists of works that will best represent their country in the context of art history.”
Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ pointed out that museums are foundations, which contain traces of the past, certain national and cultural values, etiquette and instances of social engineering tools that contribute to the developments of society, and the places to collect, protect, share information and research results, and maintain continuity in all these services.

Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ also said that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, bringing together artists from many countries, providing freedom in creativity and world art in this geography, is a unique foundation. He said, “The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, when the contemporary aesthetic values and insights are taken into consideration, is an important institution that is responsible for the selection, accumulation, protection and exhibition functions of important materials for our country. The Cyprus Museum of Modern Art's collection consists of works that will best represent their country in the context of art history.”

“We share the pain of our brothers due to the plane crash in Kazakhstan.”
Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ; “Today we are together at the opening of the solo exhibition of three Kazakh artists. First of all, for those who lost their lives in a tragic plane crash in Kazakhstan, may the victims rest in eternal peace, and I wish a rapid recovery for the wounded."

Prof. Şanlıdağ finally said "Pyotr will be with us with his exhibition titled "Chronicles of Feelings”, Guldana with the exhibition titled “Eclectic me", and Umirbek with his exhibition titled "The Bulls". We would like to extend our congratulations to all three Kazakh artists who were awarded the Silver Key by our University. We sincerely thank all the members of the Günsel family, especially Suat Hoca, who is the mastermind of all, and all the artists who supported us in this important project with their participation and dedication. I wish you a new year full of happiness, peace, health and full of art."

Umirbek Tleuliyev; “I gained new abilities”
At the beginning of his speech, Kazakh artist Umirbek Tleuliyev said, “I would like to thank the organizers and technical teams of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts with all my heartfelt feelings."

Stating that he participated in the symposiums of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts for the third time and that he gained new talents each time, he said; “I'm a book illustrator and I've always worked with A3 sizes. Here, I have also discovered cosmic dimensions and I think it is very organic. The main character of my works is Taurus, I tried to show it from different angles. Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is our Vernissage and we are now at the end of 2019. Founding Rector Suat Günsel, I especially wish you health, prosperity and the realization of your dreams in 2020."

Guldana Zhurkabayeva; "An atmosphere full of creativity, we had the opportunity to get to know ourselves and our talents again."
Guldana Zhurkabayeva said in her opening speech, "For 50 days, in an atmosphere full of creativity, at an incredible pace, we re-acquainted ourselves and our talents and had nice relations with our colleagues. I would like to thank Dr. Suat Günsel for providing us with such an opportunity. We are living today so that we can make it history tomorrow! I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Suat Günsel and the team members of taking part in the project of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.

Pyotr Kishkis; “Beauty is born through search and can only someone who is brave and thinker can be a seeker in the way of art"
Pyotr Kishkis; "Many artists from this scene shared their thoughts and expressed their gratitude. I'd like to share my thoughts with you. Our workshops, the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Near East University and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are such places that you trust and believe in your own strength. This museum is a constantly renewed water fountain. I lived a life full of light here again. I found myself among many people again. I have tried to find something of my own in other works, characters, colors and tried to find the right one. I am grateful to Suat Günsel and your welcoming land. Thank you everyone who has been with me throughout these days! Beauty arises from the search, and only a brave and thinker person can be the seeker in the way of art.”

Minister Ünal Üstel; “Near East University brings together artists from various countries and unites many works from different cultures to be exhibited in our country”
Minister of Tourism and Environment Dt. Ünal Üstel before starting his speech, wished mercy on those who lost their lives in the tragic plane disaster in Kazakhstan, and a quick recovery to the wounded, "Our hearts are always with them, thanks to our brother country Kazakhstan,"

Minister Üstel said that Near East University brought together artists from different countries and united many works from different cultures to be exhibited in our country. He said; “Today we are together with the exhibitions of Kazakh artists, Guldana Zhurkabayeva, Pyotr Kıshkıs and Umırbek Tleulıyev, whose artworks have exclusively been made for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. I would like to thank Near East University and our artists for providing these valuable gains to our country. Near East Family continues to add unique values to our country by adopting the principle that "supporting museums is supporting the future ”. The activities carried out, on the one hand, promote the country, while creating important points of attraction for tourists coming to our country. I would like to thank the Near East Family and the Kazakh artists who have brought together different cultures and arts in our country on behalf of the Ministry and the Government, and I promise to support the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Project as much as we can"

ULUG BEG and Silver Key honor awards were presented to the artists and exhibition ribbons were cut...
Following the speeches, Minister Ünal Üstel presented the ULUG BEG Award to Umirbek Tleuliyev within the scope of the Alasia Awards given to internationally recognized painting masters, and the Silver Key Honor Award to Pyotr Kishkis and Guldana Zhurkabayeva. The exhibitions can be visited in the exhibition hall of the Near East University İrfan Günsel Congress Center between 08.00-16.00 on weekdays until 10 January 2020.
