As Blue Land, we are in front of the eyes of the whole world with our art, culture and historical past.”

Stating that there is a very large section of Cyprus in the Metropolitan Museum, which he visited in New York a short time ago, President Tatar said, “Many works taken from Cyprus in the 1850s are exhibited at the New York Metropolitan Museum today. Therefore, the artistic production that takes place under the roof of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is extremely important for the culture and art environment to flourish on our island. President Ersin Tatar said, “I would like to thank all the Near East Family, especially to the Founding Rector Dr. Suat Günsel and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel who always value and support art, science and culture with their farsightedness, ”

Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul: “The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts plays a major role in the cultural heritage of the future with its artistic richness.”
Saying that art and science are a balance element in human life, the Director of Museums Department of the Near East Enterprises Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said, “We are happy to open our 385th and 386th exhibitions on behalf of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. We will continue to produce and share what we produce with our society.”

Stating that art instills hope in humanity under all circumstances, Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said, “Every exhibition opened is an important legacy for the future. These works, created by artists who can produce and open exhibitions despite the harsh conditions of the pandemic, are a great contribution to the cultural heritage of not only the Turkish Cypriot Community but all humanity.”

Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç: “As Near East University, we believe that art and science are an inseparable whole and we continue with this philosophy.”
Near East University Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenc, referring to his colleague Gökhan Okur’s words, he said, “Art and science are like two oars of a boat, they cannot be separated, no matter how much you pull one oar, you stay where you are, you cannot progress. Just like a painter working on light and colors like a physicist, or a novelist conducting research like a sociologist, there is not a contrast between science and art, but parallelism.”

Expressing that as the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design staff, they are a team of forward-thinking and innovative academic staff, Prof. Dr. Erdal Aygenç said, “These works, in which the artists reflect their own realities by addressing the problems of the period in which they live, are the products of a tremendous effort and intense disciplined work.” Prof. Dr. Aygenç ended his speech by inviting all art lovers to see the “May Exhibition of Fine Arts” and “Dedication” exhibitions, which will be open until 30 October.
