Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will celebrate “8 March International Women’s Day” with the Fine Arts February Exhibition!

The opening of the Fine Arts February Exhibition organized by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts in honor of International Women’s Day will be held after the full-day “Women’s Studies and Multidisciplinary Approaches” symposium organized by the Near East University Gender Research and Application Center.

In the “Women’s Studies and Multidisciplinary Approaches” symposium to be held before the opening of the exhibition at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall, the topics “Women in Health and Sports”, “Women in Law, Communication and Society” and “Women in Arts” will be discussed. In the forum section to be held in the last session of the symposium, women’s experiences from real life will be discussed.

The February Fine Arts Exhibition organized by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts in honor of International Women’s Day will bring together works made by 20 academic artists of the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In the exhibition, 50 works consisting of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, printmaking and stained glass will meet art lovers.

The curator of the exhibition, Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Deputy Dean and GÜNSEL Art Museum Director Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “International Women’s Day is not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to raise social awareness, emphasize women’s rights and focus on women’s achievements.”

Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “In this special exhibition, which brings together 50 original works of our award-winning artists in various styles, each work guides the journey of discovering the deep meaning of art. These works have been carefully selected to offer viewers a unique experience of emotions and thoughts.
