Atila İlkyaz

Atila İlkyaz graduated from the Department of Painting and Decorative Arts, Faculty of Education, Gazi University, in 1983. He obtained his master’s degree from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts in 1987 and his degree on Proficiency in Art in 1991. Between the years 1988-1991, he worked as a lecturer at the Department of Painting, Faculty of Education, İnönü University. In 1993, he founded the Hangar Art Foundation with six of his artist friends and published six volumes of the Hangar Art Book. In 1988, he was awarded a scholarship from the Italian Government and conducted art research in Florence. He also conducted art research in 1998 with a scholarship granted by the Romanian government, in Cluj-Napoca, and in 1999- 2000, he conducted another art research in Budapest with a scholarship from the Hungarian government. Between the years 2010-2011, he worked at the Faculty of Arts and Design of the International Balkan University (Skopje, Macedonia). He is a professor at the Faculty of Art and Design, Ankara University. The artist, who had 18 solo exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad, participated in many group exhibitions.
