He was born in Akçaköy, Lüleburgaz in 1948. He completed his secondary education in Kepirtepe Elementary School and Istanbul Teacher’s Training School, Painting Department. After one year working as elementary teacher, he entered the Istanbul Education Institute, Painting Department in 1967. In between 1970 -74, he worked in Urfa Teacher’s Training School for Girls. By succeeding the examination of Ministry of Education, he was appointed to graphic teacher in Istanbul Institute of Education, Department of Painting.

In between 1980-82, he was appointed to Atatürk Teachers Training High School, Painting Department. He completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University, in 1985. He took his “Proficiency in Art” in 1986 and joined 1. Asian – European Art Biennial. He became associate professor in 1987 and professor in 1997. In between 1988-2002, he participated in several group exhibitions and opened 30 personal exhibitions.

He was retired from the Fine Arts Department of Faculty of Education, Marmara University In 2007.
