Hayri Esmer

Hayri Esmer was born in Diyarbakır in 1966. Esmer graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of Painting in 1987. After completing his undergraduate education, Esmer completed his Master’s and Doctoral Proficiency studies which also included artistic practises in fine arts and phenomenon of violence today, at Hacettepe University, Institute of Social Sciences.He exhibited his art works in this field in national and international exhibitions. Between the years 1999-2002, he served as the board member of Ankara Branch of the International Plastic Arts Association of UNESCO AIAP. Esmer continued his carrier in Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting between the years 1999-2001. In 2001, he was employed as a faculty member of Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Printmaking. Hayri Esmer served as the head of the following department; Department of Arts and Sciences, Department of Printmaking and Contemporary Art Museum. He was the member of Broadcasting Board and editor of ‘Anadolu Sanat’ magazine. He also was in charge of preparation of the ‘Sanat ve Tasarım’ magazine at Anadolu University, Institute of Fine Arts. Esmer was promoted to the rank of associate professor in 2003, and professor in 2008. Esmer, whose articles were published in research journals and reviews in magazines and papers on painting and printmaking, had 3 international and 15 national solo exhibitions. Esmer whose works are exhibited in various museums and collections, has been invited to many national trienal, bienal exhibitions. He has been awarded 9 awards and 1 international award in painting and printmaking.
